Says advertising in The Valley Patriot was all he needed!

NORTH ANDOVER - George A. Peters Jr., is the founder & president of Lancer 1 Inc. a company he started just two years after filing for his first patent, Mosquito Mitt® in 1999. On April 1, 2003 Peters says that his dream came true when his safety applicator glove system and method was awarded a U.S. patent.

During those four years, George developed partnerships with Hefty, Milliken, and Valley Forge Sports.
At that point, the Mosquito Mitt® (Patent # 6,539,549) became a real success. Peters has also developed and patented the What Now???®, Evacuation Training Aid (Patent # D546,391).

George has appeared as a guest speaker in many schools and businesses around New England, including Babson College, located in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Next month, Peters will speak at the 13th annual Independent Inventors Conference  on the campus of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in Alexandria, Virginia. The event will take place on August 8th & 9th.

As part of the conference’s guest speaker track, Peters was invited by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to discuss his difficulties and successes as an inventor, and offer advice to people who hope to one day get their products patented.

The Independent Inventors Conference also will include a presentation by Deputy Under Secretary of Commerce Margaret Peterlin and Commissioner for Patents John Doll. Also appearing this year will be Louis Foreman, creator and executive producer of the Emmy award winning PBS series, Everyday Edisons.

Peters says that since putting his What Now??? Evacuation Training Aid on the market, advertising in The Valley Patriot was all he needed to launch a national campaign to market his product.

“I began putting half page color ads in The Valley Patriot,” Peters said. “Within the first month of running the ad, I started getting calls from school systems, office managers, and private companies all over the state. We’ve now sold this product to Fidelty Investments, the US Marines, several school systems and several multi-national corporations. I had no idea the magnitude of responses I was going to get from this little monthly newspaper. It was the perfect fit at the perfect time,” Peters concluded.

Lancer 1 Inc. develops products to make people’s lives safe and easy, especially children’s. The latest product, the WHAT NOW???® Evacuation Training Aid, was awarded a patent in 2007. This product was developed after watching fire fighters and safety officials struggle with safely blocking exits during evacuation drills.

The WHAT NOW???® provides a safe and effective way to educate people about the critical importance to know multiple escape routes when an actual emergency occurs. WHAT NOW???® is being used by Raytheon, Fidelity Investments, the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Army and hundreds of schools and business worldwide.

Lancer 1 Inc. is a privately held company headquartered in N. Andover, MA. For more information, visit www.Lancer1inc.com.
