My Goals and Priorities
Methuen State Rep. Linda Dean
Campbell
Since taking the oath of office
in January to represent you at the State House, I have
had the unique opportunity to meet with many highly
respected lawmakers on Beacon Hill. Members of the
House and Senate as well as the Governor have been down
to greet the freshman legislators on many
occasions. Their warm welcome and words of wisdom
have been extraordinarily helpful to me. Our
delegation from the Merrimack Valley and the North East
Caucus has reached out to include me in discussing all of
the issues that are specific to our region and the City
of Methuen. My legislative aide, Christopher
Dwelley, has also received a great deal of assistance
from the staffs of my fellow legislators.
This opportunity passes quickly for a freshman so I have
been at the State House virtually every day. We
just received our committee assignments and the greetings
and introductions will slow as we delve into the nitty
gritty of researching and drafting legislation. I
am told that my committee assignments are excellent,
given my freshman status: Revenue;
Telecommunications; Utilities and Energy; and Veteran and
Federal Affairs. Regardless of their status - I am
very grateful - because all these committees deal with
concerns and issues that are front and center now for all
of us.
Regarding our Methuen Community, I am focusing on
immediate priorities, including:
Working with the North East Caucus to
refocus efforts to secure state flood relief monies for
Methuen and surrounding communities. Mayor Manzi
has listed this as a pressing concern.
Working with state School Building
Authorities to ensure that Methuen is where we need to be
right now in regards to our high schools renovation
and expansion.
Meeting with our Mayor, his staff, my
colleagues in the legislature, and all Methuen
entities that have line items in the state budget
to ensure that I can effectively advocate for our
priorities in coming weeks.
I have cosponsored a great deal of legislation on a wide
range of issues pertaining to health care, education,
seniors, veterans, our environment, and more. It
would not be possible to list them here but I hope that
you will contact me and my legislative aide, Christopher
Dwelley, at any time regarding the questions you have and
concerns you wish to express.
For the foreseeable future, I can be reached in Room 437,
the temporary location for freshman legislators awaiting
assignment of office space. My legislative aide,
Christopher Dwelley, and I may be reached by calling
(617) 722-2425. My email at the State House is: Linda.Dean-Campbell@MassMail.State.MA.US
and Chris Dwelleys email address is:
Christopher.Dwelley@MassMail.State.MA.US.
You are always welcome to contact me at my residence by
phone (978-989-0722) or email: campbellmethuen@comcast.net.
