VALLEY PATRIOT EXCLUSIVE Methuen
Chiropractor Donates Kidney
The holiday season is a bit
brighter, merrier and healthier this
season for a Plaistow woman thanks to her
good friend giving her a gift that is
truly generous. While some appreciate a
good gesture of wine, gift cards or
jewelry, one Methuen Chiropractor has
gone beyond materialistic gifts and has
given the gift of life.
Dr. Deborah Fudge has been serving the
Merrimack Valley and Southern New
Hampshire for 25 years helping patients
of all ages achieve their health and
wellness goals. She is located at
Perrault Chiropractic Office 76 Woodland
Street in Methuen. For the past 3 years
she has been on a personal mission to end
Childhood Obesity. Dr. Fudge is a
Certified Transitions Lifestyle Coach and
conducts weekly classes to educate kids
and adults about how to live a healthier
life naturally. She is a member of the
Massachusetts Chiropractic Society (a
non-profit professional service
organization of chiropractic physicians
in this state) and President of the
Merrimack Valley Chiropractic Society.
She is used to helping people with their
healthcare decisions and made the biggest
decision a few months ago to help one of
her best friends and donate her kidney.
Her friend Vanessa Underwood of Plaistow,
NH is functioning at 100% and could not
be happier thanks to Deborah. She will be
celebrating her health this holiday
season with the addition of her first
grandchild due right around Christmas.
Three years ago I was told that my
sisters Kidney of 22 years was failing
due to chemo and radiation five years
earlier.. They told me I would not make
it 6 months. That was nearly 4 years ago,
says Vanessa.
When Deb heard that I would need a
kidney she went right to Boston and was
tested. I am truly blessed, as there were
several friends who were very close to
donating and many others who stepped up
to the plate. Deb stood in the background
saying: It will be me. I just know
it. As time passed and others were
tested, Deb stood steady and strong in
her belief. My good friend Beverly and I
were scheduled for surgery and the
operation was a go. At the last minute
they found an aneurysm in Beverly and
would not proceed with surgery. Deb
stepped in and as she had said, it was
going to be her after all! So here you
have it. Miracles, Faith, the power of
prayer, and angels abound. The only
difference is I can see my angel! Words
will never express my love and gratitude
to my soul sista for her generous spirit
in giving the gift of life she is one
special person, my hero, my friend.
Thanks to Deborahs family and
friends and their support during the time
she was glad she was able to help someone
in their time of need.
I had no doubt that I would be
Vanessas match. We always have said
we were like sistas and now
we call each other soul sistas
says Dr. Fudge. Vanessa is one of
the most remarkable persons I have ever
met and she has helped thousands of
people, as a fitness expert and wellness
consultant, learn the benefits of
exercise in terms of quality and
longevity of life.
She has lived this prescription her
entire life and has been an inspiration
to everyone she meets. Her Motto is Reach
for the moon the worst you can do is fall
among the stars! She never quits and in
spite of health challenges, she has used
these challenges to inspire and educate
others on becoming healthy and using a
positive lifestyle to overcome obstacles.
She never uses her health issues as an
excuse not to PERSEVERE NO MATTER WHAT
COMES HER WAY ESPECIALLY LIVING A HEALTHY
LIFESTYLE. God has a lot in store for her
still and the rest of us will do
everything in our power to keep up with
her!
